Axon
Open foundation network layer
The trust registry, discovery service, and connection broker that enables CareAgent-to-CareAgent communication across organizations.
Architecture & Purpose
Axon is the public, open network layer that connects all CareAgent deployments. It maintains a trust registry of credentialed providers and organizations, enables provider discovery so patients can find verified care, and brokers connections between agents. Axon is protocol-level infrastructure -- it does not handle PHI (protected health information), only the metadata of trust relationships. Anyone can run an Axon node, making the network federated and resilient.
Key Features
- Distributed trust registry for credentialed providers
- Provider discovery service for patient-initiated connections
- Connection brokering between CareAgent instances
- Open protocol specification for federated participation
